We spoke to manager Colin Strickland ahead of tomorrow's last 16 tie in the Junior Scottish Cup. Here's what he had to say about the tie:
𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨, 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐬, 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟔 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐭?
I think everyone is Gaz. It’s a great game for the players and club to be involved in. I’ve been told we’re taking 2 full buses down with others going in cars and on the train so yes, the full place is buzzing for it. Armadale are a historic junior club so it’s pleasing to give the fans and committee a last 16 junior cup tie to look forward to, hopefully we can do them all proud and they enjoy their day.
𝐖𝐞'𝐯𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐝𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐬, 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰?
The squad is pretty much the same. Dom Kane has been back involved and got a good 70 minutes on Tuesday night after his long term injury, and it’s good to see young Josh Gillepsie back in training after his horredous injury at start of season. We managed to get a bounce game on Tuesday night after no game for 2 weeks so was pleasing to get everyone much needed minutes in their legs.
𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐎𝐒 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐫, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦?
Troon are a top side we’ve had a few reports on them so we’re under no illusions how tough a tie this is going to be. They're sitting second and challenging in the best league at our level in my opinion, and I include the Lowland League in that, so that tells you how good a side they are. There’s no pressure on us tomorrow the players have earned the right with their performances in previous rounds to go out there, test themselves against top opposition, enjoy the game and the occasion and you just never know in cup football.
Cheers Coco, best of luck tomorrow, we're all looking forward to it!
