The Young Guns weren’t quite blazing but still  had more than enough to see of a spirited Linton Hotspur.
The hosts raced into an early lead when Skipper Aidan rose well at the back post to convert from the first corner of the match. 1-0 inside 3 mins. 
There were more goals to follow but these were interspersed with some attractive play, some scrappy play, some rash tackles and some choice language! 
The first red of the night was brandished to one of the visitors after he had aimed some choice words at the ref.
The Dale made the numerical advantage count soon after the dismissal, when they carved open the opposition defence to score a tremendous second. A defence splitting pass was squared by Kyle and converted by Kai to give the hosts a 2-0 lead.
The ref then had to reach into his back pocket again, this time ordering Adam off for a rash challenge. 2-0 and 10 a-side at the break.
The second half saw the visitors reduced to nine men after a third straight red of the match, when their defender tripped the Dale striker as he was clean through on goal. 10 v 9. Thankfully no more reds, only goals.
Goal three came when Andrew blasted the ball past the keeper to open his account for the season. 3-0 
The fourth goal followed shortly after, as the Dale turned the screw. Young Dylan, who was making his debut scored a fine left foot drive from 20yds, 4-0 and cruising. 
The visitors pulled one back when a long ball from the goalie caught the home defence of guard. 4-1
The Dale’s 5th and final goal of the night, came when Kai laid down the goalie before passing into the empty net. 5-1.
Game over, 3 points and the unbeaten start still intact.
Next week the lads travel to Blackburn on cup duty.
